Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P46G10 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

It is a well known fact that Plasma TVs use a lot more electricity than LCD TVs and your old CRT TVs. If you want the brightness of a plasma TV, I recommend getting a LED TV. They have the brightness of a plasma TV. They are the lightest and thinnest TVs. They do not have the angle viewing problem of LCD TVs. And most important, they use a lot less electricity than any other type of TV. Yes, they are currently more expensive, but prices are coming down.

I have a 52″ Panasonic TV that is less then 2 years old recently it has just turned off all by itself and will not work unless it is unplugged for 15-30 min.s and then it just turns off again after less than and hour of it being turned on, it has been doing this for 2 weeks now. I called Panasonic and they gave me the numbers of 2 service centers in my area, AFTER BEING ON HOLD WITH THEIR SERVICE LINE FOR NEARLY 2 HOURS (and if you live in an area where there are no service centers your basically screwed), neither of which would answer their phones, my TV now will not turn on at all. It did not over heat it is not in the sun and there was no power surge to cause this. I have continued to call Panasonic for their help but they have told me the TV is past the 1 year warranty and there are “limited” options right now. One of the service centers finally called me back and the MINNIMUM cost of repair for something like this is 400-500$$$ and he said he sees this all the time more than not with these TV’s!!!!! Look around on-line flat screen and plasmas are KNOWN for doing this and yet no one mentions this before you buy it!!! So if you plan on spending some money on a TV get the longest warranty that is offered because this will more than likely happen to you and Panasonic does NOTHING to back their products or to help their customers!!!!! Buy a TV through a company that has a good warranty and has good customer service NOT PANASONIC!!!!

I just installed this TV so am not able to comment on the TV itself but I wish to definitely add something regarding the way TV was delivered. The delivery was supposed to be done by Pilot and it is a white glove service but they subcontracted it to somebody else. So far so good but this guy drives up in an old van with my TV lying flat in the van and alone!!! The shipping label mentions “2 men”. This is a 80lb. TV. Nonetheless the delivery guy is supposed to open the package and take the packing materials but he just left it like that in my room..So I must say that it was very unprofessional…I called Amazon and let them know about this..I must say that Amazon’s customer service is very helpful and courteous though.

The TV arrived on the scheduled delivery date. The shipper carried the TV in, unpackaged it, and plugged it in. The TV made an awful noise and the screen would not come on. Very disappointed.

I purchased this HDTV from Amazon. Great service from Amazon. The set works fine so far. However, I wanted to ask Panasonic a couple of questions. I contacted Panasonic’s customer tech support twice via email. It has been over two weeks since I contacted them and I have yet to receive a reply. If you think you might need support from Panasonic do not buy this TV.
